- Position Papers focused on best practices for End-of-Life Care, Pain Management for the Patient with an Addictive Disorder, Neonatal Circumcision Pain Relief, The Use of As-Needed Range Orders in the Management of Acute Pain, and the Use of Placebos for Pain Management
- Propose a multi-pronged approach to present the knowledge, skills, and competencies in delivering quality health care to the older adult population

- Collaborate with key organizational partners in providing learning activities designed for multi-specialty interests
- Secure a thought leader in pain assessment and management of pain in the older adult to present a keynote at national conferences for ASPMN and other nursing specialty organizations

- Task force chaired by Keela Herr, PhD, RN, addressed the issue of Assessment of Pain in the Non-verbal Patient
- Geriatrics Special Interest Roundtable convened during the annual conference and presentations locally and at the national level specific to “Pain Management in the Elderly” and “Special Populations” including the geriatric patient
