Presentations, Workshops, and Seminars

  • In 2006 PCNA presented the Get Tough on Angina program at several national and regional professional conferences including the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology meetings. In addition, PCNA presented the GTOA program and the importance of nursing internationally at two different preventive cardiology meetings held in Chile and Hong Kong.
  • Hosted community seminars on "Getting Tough on Angina" (GTOA) to over 300 patients and their family members living with angina as a pilot of the national GTOA program initiative.
  • Offered three classroom training sessions and five Webcast teleconference training sessions on "Getting Tough on Angina" (GTOA) in three states in 2003 and 2006.
  • Include topics aimed at successful aging and special needs of the elderly at the annual PCNA national conference. Previous conference topics include:
    • Patient Compliance and Motivation (2003)
    • Cardiorespiratory Fitness, Fatness, and Risk of Diabetes, CVD, and Mortality: What Should I Tell My Patients (2004)

  • Ensured that the Get Tough on Angina (GTOA) project committee helped raise awareness within PCNA of issues surrounding aging
