  • Create a Mentorship program to identify and link nursing students interested in geriatrics to nurses practicing in the field
  • Added a page on www.nsna.org with educational and career resources for gerontological nursing and care of older adults

Awards

  • An award will be established to recognize a school or state chapter for conducting a community health service project that focuses on older adults
  • Raise student awareness about careers in geriatric nursing and inspire innovation with a poster contest to be judged at the Annual Convention
  • Fund two scholarship awards for students interested in geriatric nursing (one in 2006 and one in 2007)
