Publications and Position Statements

• Published results from an AHA CVN database conference cosponsored with the Hartford Institute, the National Institute on Aging, and the American College of Cardiology in the American Journal of Geriatric Cardiology.
• Participated in the development of a position statement concerning secondary prevention of coronary heart disease in the elderly.
• Initiating a Scientific Statement paper on competence in promoting risk factor modification and care to older adults with cardiovascular disease.
• Preparing a manuscript for publication detailing the results of an online educational needs survey addressing the prioritization of Nurse Competencies for Older Adult Care and suggesting future strategic directions.

Presentations, Workshops, and Seminars

• Sponsored several presentations highlighting the problem of cardiovascular disease in the elderly at the annual Scientific Sessions.
