American Journal of Nursing: Nursing Care of Older Adults
Newest in the American Journal of Nursing (AJN) resource base is the How to Try This series, a John A. Hartford Foundation-funded project provided to the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing at New York University's College of Nursing in collaboration with the AJN. This initiative will translate the evidence-based geriatric assessment tools in the Try This assessment series into cost-free, web-based resources including demonstration videos, and a corresponding print series featured in the AJN, developed to build geriatric assessment skills - the foundation for appropriate care of older adults. Also available are the articles and case-study videos in the New Look at the Old series, a collaborative effort between the AJN and the Gerontological Society of America, supported with funding from the Atlantic Philanthropies. This series details best practices around issues such as functional decline in hospitalized older adults; nutritional needs and interventions; appropriate medications; and other topics that present daily in the care of older adults. All of these materials are available at no cost.

Innovations in End-Of-Life Care
Innovations is an international peer-reviewed journal for leaders in end-of-life care published online from 1999-2003. Bimonthly, thematic issues aimed to promote more humane, comprehensive and coordinated care to persons with life-threatening illness and their families, such that patients experience enhanced comfort, higher physical functioning and a greater sense of well-being at the end of life. The archived online journal is still free and accessible to all.

Journals of the Gerontological Society of America
In addition to the Gerontologist, the Gerontological Society of America publishes two additional journals. Series A: Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences publishes articles from the fields of anthropology, demography, economics, epidemiology, geography, political science, public health, social work, social history, and sociology. Series B: Psychological Sciences and Social Sciences contains articles on the psychology of aging, including attitudes, cognition, emotion, perception, personality, and sensation.
