American Association of Colleges of Nursing

The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) is a not-for-profit organization of over 6,700 health professionals devoted to improving the health, independence, and quality of life of all older people. The Society provides leadership to healthcare professionals, policy makers, and the public by implementing and advocating for programs in patient care, research, professional and public education, and public policy.
American Society on Aging
The American Society on Aging is the largest organization of multidisciplinary professionals in the field of aging. Their resources, publications, and educational opportunities are geared to enhance the knowledge and skills of people working with older adults and their families.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which replaced the Health Care Financing Administration in 2001, works to serve Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries and health care providers. As part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they encourage innovation, consumer education, and responsiveness to American’s health care needs.
Gerontological Society of America
The Gerontological Society of America is a non-profit professional organization with more than 5,000 members in the field of aging. GSA provides researchers, educators, practitioners, and policy makers with opportunities to understand, advance, integrate, and use basic and applied research on aging to improve the quality of life as one ages.
National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners
The National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners (NCGNP) is an organization for NPs who want to pursue continuing education in geriatric care and who seek peer support from experienced clinicians. In addition to providing continuing gerontological education for advanced practice nurses, they promote communication and research.
National Council on Aging
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is a non-profit organization with a national network of more than 14,000 organizations and leaders. Its members include senior centers, area agencies on aging, adult day service centers, faith-based service organizations, senior housing facilities, employment services, consumer groups, and leaders from academia, business, and labor. NCOA programs help older people remain healthy and independent, find jobs, increase access to benefits programs, and discover meaningful ways to continue contributing to society.
National Gerontological Nursing Association
The National Gerontological Nurses Association (NGNA) was founded in 1984, and is dedicated to the clinical care of older adults across diverse care settings. Members include clinicians, educators, and researchers with vastly different educational preparation, clinical roles, and interest in practice issues.
