Overview of ANA-SNAPG Activities
A Strategic Plan document was developed to organize the major initiatives and strategies for the project. A planning committee comprised of experts in gerontology was formed to serve as advisors and leaders for several initiatives, including a pre-conference at the March 2004 national NACNS conference, selecting the plenary speaker with a gerontology focus, and Web site enhancement.
The pre-conference, "Best Practices for Care of Older Adults," is an opportunity for CNSs of any specialty to advance their knowledge about best practices and evidence - based care of older adults. The half-day CE offering is free to the first 75 attendees to register.
The plenary speaker will be Dr. Shirley Travis, D. W. Colvard Distinguished Professor at The University of North Carolina. The title of her presentation will be "Reframing End of Life Care."
